St. Anne’s Episcopal School suffered a tragic loss over the 2008 Thanksgiving weekend.  The Lofgren family, Parker, Caroline, Owen (4th grade) and Sophie (3rd grade) passed away from an accidental carbon-monoxide poisoning while vacationing in Aspen.  This is an inconceivable loss for the relatives of the Lofgrens and their many friends around the country as well as the entire St. Anne’s community.

In their six years at St. Anne’s, Parker and Caroline chaired the school’s Annual Campaign, and Caroline was an enthusiastic volunteer with the Parents’ Association.  Sophie was an accomplished musician with the violin and loved swimming, ice skating and skiing.  Owen loved lacrosse, swimming, golf and skiing.  The St. Anne’s community is filled with sorrow at the loss of this wonderful family.

Contributions to the Lofgren Memorial Fund are placed in the St. Anne’s Endowment Fund. The Fund was created to allow talented, promising students to experience a St. Anne’s education that would otherwise be unavailable to them. The earnings from the Fund are specifically designated to financial aid for students who are accepted at St. Anne’s. Through this opportunity, the Lofgrens and their love for St. Anne’s will continue to be part of our school for generations to come.
