This month’s Alumni Spotlight features Annalee Miner '18, a current student at Kent Denver. This year, she joined a local chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) to participate in the “Students of the Year” challenge. This challenge is a national student-led campaign that has raised over $40 million for cancer research since 2017. LLS guides motivated high school leaders to foster professional skills such as entrepreneurship, marketing, and project management as they seek to raise funds for LLS. The title “Student of the Year” is awarded to the candidate or co-candidate team in each community that raises the most funds during a 7-week competition. Annalee partnered with another Kent student to raise $50,000 as part of this philanthropic competition. She and her teammate have solicited local companies, corporations, schools, and community members and are about 45% towards their ultimate goal. We applaud Annalee’s initiative and drive with this effort! For more information on her campaign, visit https://events.lls.org/rm/DenverSOY20/aminer.
